Choosing a Contractor
Choosing a contractor to install your irrigation system can be difficult. Here are a few things to consider when choosing a contractor.
Get at least 3 bids to ensure you are paying a reasonable price.
Make sure that your contractor has valid general liability insurance. The contractor should at least be covered to $500,000 to cover not only property damage but also utility damages that could cost thousands of dollars.
Watch out for contractors that don’t put their company names on any of their equipment especially their trucks and trailers. This could be a sign that they are an “in and out” company and you won’t see them ever again after you pay.
Make sure your contractor is not just giving you a sales pitch. Many guys are good at this. Make sure you research the company and their products. Green Companies has links to our products so you the customer can research this.
Watch out for contractors that are not licensed to install irrigation systems. The license number should start with TS. Also, make sure the contractor is not borrowing another company’s license number, it is fraudulent.
